The Salvation Army Miranda

The Salvos have been serving the Miranda community for more than 55 years and its facilities on the corner of Kiora Road and Willock Avenue are known to most locals. From the current site the Salvos offer critical local welfare services including financial crisis assistance, access to transitional housing for vulnerable women and families, hot meals and hampers, training and mentoring to help at risk young people attain their driver’s licence, counselling for family issues, and drug and alcohol support.

The Salvation Army Australia is an international Christian movement, united by faith and giving hope where it is needed most. Its mission is to support people who are experiencing hardship or injustice. Across Australia, the Salvos assist one person every 17 seconds. In 2021-22, The Salvation Army provided more than 1.86 million sessions of care and one million nights of accommodation, served more than 1.52 million meals and distributed more than $32 million in financial assistance.
